So the good news is, I don’t really have Swine Flu…but I did get knocked down pretty fucking hard and I was down and out for days…but things have leveled off and are looking pretty promising nowadays…phew!
We are currently busy and coming closer and closer to finish the EP that we have been working on for far too long, but it is sounding better and better everyday and we thank everyone for their patience on the matter.
SO. WITH THAT SAID.
We are proud to present a fantastic show this coming Friday night at the Radio Bean in downtown Burlington, featuring a great band from Connecticut called SORE EROS. They are really fantastic and humbling and beautiful and no one has any excuse to miss this. They go on at 10pm and we follow up at 11pm…here is the poster! Hope you can make it!
Sadly Tristan has swine flu, so we are going to have to cancel this weekends show. However our good friend and phenomenal musician Brian Parmely of Parmaga will be filling in tonight. Check him out at the Monkey.
Looks like our good friend, over at Burlysong, Rebecca just posted all of the videos from our VCAM session. There are some that didn’t make into the final cut, so check it out!
We just got back from Higher Ground…what an amazing show. Thank you all who came out, but thank you most to World Inferno. I haven’t had as much fun at a show in a long time. World Inferno’s high energy gypsy-circus-bungle-punk kept me on the edge of my seat (no wait, toes) all night. If you haven’t checked them out…do it. If you haven’t seen them live…double do it. If you haven’t done either…double dog dare do it (an impossible dare to deny).
Again, thank you all. We couldn’t do it without you (even though we might anyway…no offense).
Well we were planning to take a month break, but instead we have a host of shows coming up! The closest on the docket (this coming Monday, April 6) got picked up by Dan Bolles of the Seven Days.
So I’m excited to note that, this Monday, local indie-rock up-and-comers Villanelles will rock out with carnival-punk orchestra World/Inferno Friendship Society at the Higher Ground Showcase Lounge.
After not playing for the better part of the first two months of 2009, we hit the ground running, playing an awesome show in support of the Workingman’s Army CD Release Party…Despite the fact that we didn’t get on stage until about 12:15am, the crowd was fantastic and danced well into the morning with us. The next day we were up early at VCAM studios, recording the next episode of Nude Veritas Burly Song, which is set to air on Local Access Television in Vermont this week.
The following week we were down at the Skinny Pancake, trying out our acoustic skills to an eager audience. Turns out the Burlington Free Press heard about the show and came down to shoot some footage for their video blog Volume. Last week we were at the Radio Bean, our home turf and preferred venue, with the Rosesmiths and Torpedo Rodeo for a fantastic evening of melodies and harmonies.
This week we have a hot off the press DVD copy of our Burly Song episode which you can watch below. We are also playing a show at the Monkey House in Winooski this Friday evening, with Parmaga and the Rosesmiths, both great bands and friends, before us. This is going to be a great show and we are really excited and hope to see everyone out!
So yeah…we have been pretty busy. After this set of shows and such, we are going to take it easy for the month of April and focus on finishing up our next EP, which has yet to be titled. So keep your ears out for that and make sure you check out our episode of BURLY SONG:
PS. I have been obsessed with Fleetwood Mac lately, as I recently bought every single record I could find at Downtown Discs, where I am blessed to be employed. If you haven’t had your sit down with this band yet, no matter what stage of their career, I suggest you do. Especially with the sun finally coming out of hiding. Cheers!
The Deli Magazine just posted a great interview with our good friends In Memory of Pluto. Check out the interview here and their “intergalactic space metal” at their myspace, you won’t be disappointed. They are a one of the tightest and most energetic bands in Burlington these days and you should definitely check them out.
Cheers,
Evan
p.s. I’m pretty sure they are playing this Thursday (March 12th) at Odd Fellows Temple, should be a great time.
